World Famous German Doner Kebab chain heads to Canterbury
Legendary fast-food brand "German Doner Kebab" is set to open in Canterbury with a franchise heading to St. George’s Street
Having opened its first store in Berlin in 1989 and spent the next decade perfecting creating a ‘healthy and nutritionally balanced approach to traditional kebabs’, German Doner Kebab has been taken around the world through franchising opportunities.
Now coming to Canterbury, the franchise will open at the former GAME site in St George’s Street.
Also known as GDK, the restaurant brand says its ‘exclusive ingredients’ and ‘secret sauces’ are behind much of its success, priding itself on offering “game-changing” kebabs made using premium, lean meats and fresh local vegetables.
While the chain has a number of sites in London, there is only one other in Kent, in Maidstone’s Week Street.
GDK’s operations manager, Golam Rabbi, says: “We are delighted to be bringing German Doner Kebab to Canterbury.
“We’ve been looking for the perfect site for a while, and the unit on St George’s Street is a great fit for us.”
“We’re looking forward to welcoming new customers for takeaway and delivery initially, and for a sit-down meal when restrictions permit.”
