The Kent Coffee Festival is set to celebrate all things coffee as it brings all the flavours, smells and creativity of modern café culture.

Taking place at the Gulbenkian theatre at the University of Kent, Canterbury, as part of the boing! International Family Festival, it will be providing fresh inspiration, tips and ideas for coffee enthusiasts.

In partnership with headline sponsor La Marzocco, the festival will first open exclusively for trade visitors on Friday, August 27, from midday to 5.30pm before opening its doors to the public on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th. The inaugural festival, which was postponed last year due to Covid, has already picked up national attention, with the likes of Oatly, BWT, Espresso Solutions and Northiam Dairy sponsoring.

Like an overzealous cat, guests can gaze in wonder at the milky pours on show in the Latte Art Zone, while the heat is on in the Coffee Roaster Zone. The Supplier Showcase will allow guests to sample lots of different styles and brands of coffee, while the Espresso Martini Bar offers something for those who like an extra kick with their caffeine. Of course, there will also be a programme of informative talks for brew fans.

Founder Luke Underdown, who owns Kent’s Garage Coffee, says: “I am so delighted to be part of the creative team bringing this fantastic festival to life. Over the last five years, I have seen the coffee scene in Kent flourish and now is the perfect time to showcase what the county has on offer.

“We are packing this event full of useful content for hospitality businesses and it’s a perfect opportunity to showcase your services and products to businesses, who play a huge part in this continually growing sector as we recover from the huge challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
