HELLO : A NOTE FROM OUR EDITOR
Well, I don’t quite know where to begin. So much has changed in the past six months since our last edition. We did our best to avoid that awkward elbow-to-elbow touch thing long enough to reflect on the bits of our lives that we enjoy and perhaps took for granted, as well as the bits we could do without – like playing chicken with the security guard as you put your mask on just before crossing the threshold of the supermarket entrance.
We have all missed something during this strange time, whether it was going out with friends, sharing a meal, hearing live music or even just the ability to shake a hand or offer a hug.
At ‘cene, we have missed meeting the people that make the magazine what it is – those creative people looking to change the world. Fortunately, the door has been unlocked just long enough to be able to have a chat with this lot.
In this edition, we commit high treason with Mr Bingo, chase the first mosh pit after Covid with director Tom Dream, raise up UK R&B with Rebecca Garton, talk art with Robert Diament, go viral with Moss Media, pull the pin with Maxim and Dan Pearce and start ‘winning’ with Kenwa and the People Dem Collective.
Enjoy.
Joe.
