Wilkinson collaborates with Folkestone's 10 Years Time on new album artwork
Collage artist creates five pieces for the drum ‘n’ bass star
Folkestone-based collage artist Charlie Elms, aka 10 Years Time, has collaborated with drum ‘n’ bass star Wilkinson on the artwork for his brand new album 'Cognition' - due out 11th February 2022.
Using his signature styles of merging two conflicting scenes, Charlie has produced five pieces for four singles and the album cover itself.
The cover art is a splice of two elements - the roots and trunk of a tree, ripped and replaced by thick, dark smoke - making for a very dramatic and thought-provoking piece.
Of the project, Charlie said: “Wilks approached me, I’m not sure how he discovered my work. I think we have a mutual mate in Harriet Jaxxon (our interview with Whitstable DJ Harriet Jaxxon is HERE).
“It started about a year ago, the brief was all about perspective, and taking time to reflect on life which is how we came up the ‘rip’ concept.”
Among the singles artwork is a piece for the track 'Used to this' featuring Sevenoaks artist Issey Cross (Full interview HERE), featuring a mixture of an explosion of red and blue smoke - incidentally, often the colours of Issey Cross’ hair!
