Jetty street-food to open on Broadstairs Pier
The first stage in their phased opening starts with the launch of the takeaway service on Thursday, July 15
With a new bistro and bar, street food take away and a wet seafood stall, you could say it’s all happening at the end of Broadstairs pier.
And it is.
The rundown Pier Head building, for years run as a seaside cafe, has been refurbed and transformed into Jetty Broadstairs, a bistro with a little extra.
That little extra is actually quite a lot, with a street food takeaway window, serving a range of food such as pink peppercorn squid, cauliflower popcorn and pulled pork burgers, as well as pastries, wine and beer, and Lost Sheep coffee
There will also be a wet seafood stall to the side of the building serving favourites such as cockles, crab and other fresh catch, and an ice cream machine selling dairy and vegan treats.
And then there’s the stylish bistro, with seating inside and out, and unrivalled views across the beach and out to sea, serving a range of dishes from fish and chips, burgers, mussels and chips, and much more.
Those behind the venture - owners Christian Miles and Warren Roe, and manager Mandy Morgan and catering consultant Phil Stocken, have poured their hearts and souls into transforming the well-known building into a relaxed, fun new place to eat.
And they have now reached the first stage in their phased opening with the launch of the takeaway service on Thursday, July 15.
Visitors will be able to get their hands on a range of breakfast options, coffees, street food and alcoholic drinks.
The new bistro, which will use produce from local suppliers including Margate Cakehouse, St Peter’s Sausage Company and Hogmans Butchers, will open soon after although a date is yet to be announced.
