Festival Chamber Orchestra Concert Series comes to Canterbury
Canterbury Festival will work with the Festival Chamber Orchestra to present three socially-distanced live events over May and June 2021.
With stunning acoustics, a contemporary feel and ample room for audience-bubbles to relax - Kent College’s Great Hall is the ideal venue for audiences to enjoy the return of live music.

Baroque Passion

Baroque Passion presents an evocative and engaging programme of music featuring works by JS Bach, H. Purcell and T. Albinoni. With the Festival Chamber Orchestra, Conductor Stephen Barlow and Oboist Stuart Orme.

The concert will feature a reworking of classical works together with some Jazz inspired pieces, so you may hear Bach, Corelli and Purcell fused to Michel LeGrand. With David Reese Williams, Iain Ballamy and Ian Crowther.
Mozart to Motown via Getz

Mozart to Motown builds upon previous concert, Bach to Bowie, and features Polly Gibbons with superb saxophonist Paul Booth, who will perform Her from the iconic album Focus, by Stan Getz. The programme will include classical pieces together with popular tunes of the 1960’s, finishing with the Motown Sound.
