NEW MUSIC: FT. THE SLOPES, HARLEY D, PRYMA, WILL JOSEPH COOK & CHLOE MORIONDO
Kent’s New Music Friday is picking out tracks that have entered our ears in the past week!
This Friday, while you are social distancing or even heading back to work, let these new tracks from Kent artists tune your ears in to what the most musically productive county in the country sounds like right now.
We have added all tracks to the ‘cene #KeepitKent Spotify Playlist HERE
THE SLOPES - MUSHROOM TUNE

Joel Jackson, aka The Slopes, has already blown us away with his scope of tunes from the townie rap of ‘Charlie’ to the one-man-and-his-guitar ‘Glass’. But now, back with new track ‘Mushroom Tune’, Margate’s The Slopes has flexed the creative muscles as well as the vocal range with a haunting but buoyant melody exploring the introversions of one’s psyche. We await the ‘It Gets Better Mate I Promise’ EP. Elevating!
HARLEY D - NINETY DEGREES

’Ninety Degrees’ is the debut D&B single by Harley D, who has signed to Gravesend record label LoveThatBass.
The 28-year-old from Margate has been building a solid reputation for himself over the past couple of years with a string of dance floor flavoured singles and EP releases on labels such as Serial Killaz and DNB Vibes.
‘Ninety Degrees’ is described as a “sub low heavy ‘Bristol-style’ bassline” with “snappy breaks providing the punch needed to cut through in the mix”. There is certainly a 90’s rave era feel with more than a sprinkling of jungle. The vocal sample states that “This is an emergency!” and we agree… the track deserves to be rushed to a rave near you. Incredible!
PRYMA - MASQUERADE

Whitstable heavy rockers Prymå are bringing low-slung thrashing guitars, packed with riffs and enduring drums to a burst eardrum near you.
“Crawling towards the sound…” bellows lead singer Gabrielle George, while Max Raven (lead guitar) shreds the bejeezus out of the instrumental centrepiece. Inspired by bands such as Queen, Led Zeppelin and Royal Blood, it’s great to see some heavy rock firing onto the scene. Relight.
WILL JOSEPH COOK - BE AROUND ME (FT. CHLOE MORIONDO)
Instagram: @willjosephcook
Even before the philosophical words “I’d rather be a fish…” (Fish) were uttered by Tunbridge Wells’ Will Joseph Cook, we knew the gift he had for creating painfully catchy tracks.
Amassing a back catalogue that any solo artist would envy, WJC has not let up on his trail to govern the minds of today, with his masterful composition of popular music. With new tune, ‘Be Around Me’, he has worked with YouTube, ukulele and, now, streamed music sensation Chloe Moriondo. A back and forth duet with pace, beats and class-A-level addictive melodies… you can’t go wrong with it. Compulsive.
