NEW MUSIC: FT. WREN, LARRY PINK THE HUMAN, BROKEN HANDS & DOGGER
We have four new tracks from Kent artists for this week’s New Music Friday
This Friday, while you are social distancing or even heading back to work, let these new tracks from Kent artists tune your ears in to what the most musically productive county in the country sounds like right now.
We have added all tracks to the ‘cene #KeepitKent Spotify Playlist HERE
WREN - VOLANTIS
“Margate indie rocker WREN has created a big sound with new track ‘Volantis’. It’s guitar music with Britpop feel. Think Cast and Richard Ashcroft. He is on the radar of one Peter Doherty having recently supported the Libertines frontman on solo gigs. We can’t wait to hear more.”
LARRY PINK THE HUMAN - PURPOSE BUILT
”Formed of Laurie Vincent from Kent punks Slaves and super-producer turned songwriter Jolyon Thomas (M83, Royal Blood), LARRY PINK THE HUMAN is producing timeless tracks that are boxfresh and inventive. In ‘Purpose Built’, there feels like an emotional seesaw of strength and belief battling with fear and loss. ‘When we’re together, we can never be lost’, is the transfixing line that allows the picture to be painted beautifully. The video, launched today, shows off the Kent coastline from Margate, Dover, Deal and Folkestone, in stunning ways you may never have considered. Moving.”
BROKEN HANDS - FOR THE NIGHT
“New track ‘For The Night’ is a bit of a departure from the usual booming rock from the Canterbury outfit, but Broken Hands have returned from their excursion to the US in 2019 with an armful of new tunes and a flash of experimentation. The vocals are still powerful and the lyrics are still infectious, but the melody feels new and laced with Americana. Another great listen.”
DOGGER - HOLDING BACK FT. MINDSTATE, DRS & LIAM BAILEY
“Lining up with modern DnB royalty in the form of DRS and Liam Bailey, as well as hugely respected producer Mindstate, Dogger has released his ‘The Time Is Yours’ EP. Stripped back with a focus on strong vocals, we have picked out single ‘Holding Back’. An energetic but chilled Jungle-style tune that just really, really, really works.”
