PRESS (@gkeennedy)

The notorious Folkestone producer is back again with a string of three new tunes, “No One In The Universe”, “Bout’ Time I Live My Life”, and “Mossford Edit”. These tracks are the epitome of PRESS’ musical talent; as they delve into many inspiring samples, new levels of experimental production, with his own signature twist on established genres.

PRESS has had an awesome venture into music last year, with his remixes of Kano’s “Pan-Fried” and Everyone You Know’s “She Don’t Dance” scoring critical acclaim. PRESS has a unique trait to be able to produce quality music in nearly every genre imaginable, a la, a Kaytranada or Flume. He’s one to watch, as I’m sure he has many quality tunes in store for us in the future.

Maths Time Joy (@mathstimejoy)

Next up, we have the newest single from the extremely prolific Maths Time Joy, where he creates an immense ambience/atmosphere embedded with heavy R&B + Soul elements. Kevin Garrett’s voice is the perfect match to the serene and melancholic, yet, upbeat and sincere production from MTJ. “Two Steps” is a mega track to unwind and relax to, or even to resonate and tune into for your emotions. It’s a real fresh, intricate ballad which can fall into any playlist, so I recommend you have a little listen. MTJ has made some real prolific ventures recently, working with Sinead Harnett as well as obviously, Kevin Garrett - so we’ll be looking forward eagerly to see what he has in the future.

KYANNA (@kyannahayes)

We couldn’t leave this one out of this edition of UTR x ‘cene. It’s Kyanna’s “Day by Day”, a deep and introspective track delving into delicate and relatable topics. What stood out the most was the attributes of her voice, which really reminded me of Clairo or Katie Melua. There is a real gentle and tranquil production value. The chorus is solid, too, where you can see her elite songwriting skills in full effect. “Day by Day” is definitely an essential listen for you to tune into this week, and be sure to add this one to your playlists! It’s a banger!

Florence Arman (@florence.arman)

Up next, we have the incredibly talented Florence Arman. She has recently released a new single named, “In A Heartbeat”, and it’s an astonishing single to say the least. She has the most intriguing and atmospheric voice and cadence, a la Billie Eilish. There’s nifty riffs on production, as well as some creative and enjoyable songwriting. All these attributes tick the box for an enjoyable track, and that’s merely an understatement. Top work from Florence on this one. If you enjoy slower jams filled to the brim with emotive lyricism and intricate vocals, then this one’s for you. Top job!

Coldest Killer (@coldestkiller)

“Cut The Phone” finds us on a prolific trap instrumental, where the emcee enters the track with an addictive and laid-back cadence. The chorus is top-tier, and was on repeat in my head for hours. The beat is super psychedelic and immersive, which is the perfect canvas for Coldest Killer to paint his bars on. Coldest Killer also has some top-class punchlines embedded within the track, which only add to his prolific skillset, especially in songwriting. Be sure to tune in to this track, and the many others in his discography. You won’t regret it!

XNilo (@xnilo)

Today’s focus lies on XNilo’s track with the equally amazing Etta Bond, “Your Way”. It’s a chill and laid-back track. XNilo and Bond go back and forth (as well as in tandem) to create some beautiful sonic moments. XNilo has a unique charisma to his voice, which makes listening to him just truly exceptional. Etta Bond is someone we all know and love, too, and she delivers some quality moments on this track as well. It’s a 10/10 for sure, and I guarantee you’ll have some love for this one. Check it out!
