Handpicking elements of pop, rock and emo in equal measure, SKIES build on the foundation laid by their 3 EP’s with the release of addictive new track ‘Born Yesterday’, recorded and produced by Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios in SKIES’ hometown of Folkestone.

The track is accompanied by a new music video in the run up to a UK headline tour.

With their trademark blend of meaningful lyrics, anthemic sound and indie/rock hooks, previous releases featured on BBC Introducing, TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, Spotify’s All New All Now, The Indie List, Rock Rotation, All New Rock & Hot New Bands & New Music Friday playlists.

The music video was filmed by Visual Line Ltd at their studio in Folkestone.

Jericho (Songwriter / Drums / Synths) explains: “We took a light hearted approach on the idea of questioning someone if you suspect they might be cheating on you - my Dad said it might be funny if we film a Mastermind/quiz show music video, so we went from there... It’s set in a nondescript time somewhere between 1960 and 2000 with a twist at the end!”

Of the song, Alie (Lead Singer / Songwriter / Guitar) says: “I’d written this a little while ago when I had some suspicions in a relationship, and I also had a couple of friends who had been cheated on and it’s one of the most brutal things that can happen to you. It was therapeutic writing about it and almost standing up for myself and for my friends. I’d like to think it could be empowering for anyone who is in that sort of a situation”

SKIES will play the ‘cene stage in Ashford this Saturday at Elwick Place for the launch of Macknade Ashford.
