WOOD-FIRE FLAVOUR AT THE EAST KENT IN WHITSTABLE
Supported Content: Look out for on Wood-Fire Wednesdays
The East Kent pub in the heart of Whitstable is known for its tempting array of good food, whether you’re looking for sharing plates (bao buns with pork belly), classic dishes (the famous Aussie burger) or more refined signature dishes (seared masala mackerel and Malaysian seafood laksa).
It also offers a choice of scrumptious plant-based dishes and a full gluten-free menu. To drink, there is always a fine choice of beer, wine and some seriously good cocktails.
With its Aussie influence, there’s no surprise that this pub is proud of its large, secluded garden, perfect for relaxing in the summer sunshine and, if the English weather is less clement, you can still enjoy eating al fresco under the pretty covered pergola.
But one of the town’s hidden gems is The Whitstable Wood-Fire Kitchen nestled at the back of the East Kent garden, where tasty artisan pizzas are made and cooked. You can watch the chefs in action, flaring the dough and using fresh Italian ingredients that give these pizzas authentic flavour.
It’s not just pizzas cooking here - succulent lamb is slow-roasted overnight for the signature sharing platter that includes tzatziki, salads and flatbreads. There’s a little bit of Mediterranean flavour right here on the Kent coast. What’s more, on Wood-Fire Wednesdays you can get two pizzas for £20 from 5pm.
This family-friendly pub has a fantastic summer offer of 2-for-1 on all kids’ meals every day from 5th July to 1st September - perfect for the school holidays!
