SPRING 2026 AT FOLKESTONE’S SILVER SCREEN CINEMA 

Dates for new releases, Folkestone Film Club and Folkestone Film Festival



The stunning Silver Screen Cinema in Folkestone has announced a stellar line-up of films, shows and events this spring, furthering its reputation as one of the key locations for theatrical releases in the county.

New releases include Disney Pixar’s Hoppers, as well as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Project Hail Mary, The Devil Wears  Prada 2, The Sheep Detectives and the hotly anticipated The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

There will also be the world premiere of Don’t Be Prey, a new documentary about the Oceans Seven challenge in the English Channel is being screened on Wednesday 4th March, followed by a live Q&A with ocean swimmer Mark Sowerby and coach Tim Denyer. 

Live theatre coming to Folkestone’s biggest screen includes Shakespeare’s Othello (March 4th), Bryan Cranston in All My Sons (16th April), The Playboy of the Western World (28th May) and Les Liaisons Dangereuses (25th June) from National Theatre Live. 

The Folkestone Film Festival is back with another season of new short films from Kent and beyond, on Sunday 26th April, with filmmaker Q&As, discussions and more.

Folkestone Film Club continues its programme of musicals, romantic comedies, biopics and dramas such as Wicked: For Good, Eternity, Song Sung Blue, Springsteen, H is for Hawk, Nuremberg and Oscar-nominees such as Hamnet, One Battle After Another, Blue Moon, Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent and Sentimental Value

Folkestone Doc Club also returns for Spring with Everybody to Kenmure Street (25th March), Broken English (29th April), and The Tale of Silyan (27th May).

The Secret Agent (15) 

In Brazil’s military dictatorship of 1977, a former professor returns to his hometown in search of peace, but soon realizes that the city is far from being the refuge he seeks, in this Oscar-nominated political thriller. 

Sentimental Value (15) 

An actress is forced to reunite with her estranged film-director father when he attempts to cast her in a new semi-biographical film, in this Oscar-nominated Norwegian drama. 

FOLKESTONE DOC CLUB 

Everybody to Kenmure Street (12A) – Wednesday 25th March 

Glasgow residents abandon their daily routines to gather on Kenmure Street after learning authorities plan to deport their neighbors, sparking an impromptu grassroots movement. 

Broken English – Wednesday 29th April 

A genre-defying documentary-hybrid portrait of British singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull. Blending interviews, archival footage, fictionalised elements, music and performances to explore her life, career, and cultural legacy. 

The Tale of Silyan (12A) – Wednesday 27th May 

Nikola, a struggling farmer whose family has left for a better life abroad, encounters an injured white stork. As he nurses the bird back to health, an unlikely bond forms between man and animal.
