Established in 1864, the hotel blends its Victorian charm with the calm of the surrounding seascape, offering guests a setting that feels atmospheric, characterful and inviting. Many of the bedrooms benefit from clear sea views that shift beautifully throughout the day, creating a sense of ease from the moment guests arrive.
The hotel rebranded to voco in 2024 and has since continued to refresh its spaces, shaping an experience designed to dine, relax and unwind.

Afternoon tea is presented with a gentle elegance that reflects the building’s heritage, while the inviting lounges offer a comfortable place to enjoy a Costa Coffee and a pastry. Guests can sip a signature drink in the Coral Bar and Lounge or settle into a refined dining experience at the renowned Marco Pierre White Steakhouse. These thoughtful touches, along with a warm and attentive welcome, reflect the voco ethos where everyone is a host.

One year on from the rebrand, and in celebration of its first voco birthday, the hotel revealed its newly-transformed function suites. This multimillion-pound investment focused on creating vibrant and contemporary event spaces that celebrate the creativity and hospitality of Folkestone and Kent. The result is a selection of elegant, versatile rooms suitable for weddings, celebrations and business events, with capacity for up to 80 guests for a seated dinner and 110 for a standing reception.

The suites feature contemporary textures, refined finishes and a calm, modern palette that creates a considered backdrop for gatherings of every occasion. The adjoining Bouverie Bar adds a sophisticated social space, serving bespoke cocktails, gins and craft beers beside the event rooms. Together, these new areas offer a polished setting shaped with care and attention. This next chapter is also guided by a commitment to community, aiming to inspire guests, set a new standard within Folkestone and continue evolving to enhance every visit.
