MARGATE SUMMER SERIES 2024 - THE LINE-UP

A huge run of shows welcomes the best live acts from around the world to Dreamland’s Scenic Stage



The Margate Summer Series returns for 2024 with a huge line-up of gigs spanning genres and generations with some of the best acts to ever do it.

With a run of shows that incorporates some 30 dates and more than 100 musical icons heading to Dreamland between June and September, the Summer Series will have something for you. 

It is all set in Dreamland’s 7,500-capacity outdoor area, complete with vintage amusement park rides and banging street food, fans of rock, soul, electronic, reggae, disco, drum and bass will not be disappointed. 

Let’s start with the festivals. The Margate Reggae Festival (June 22nd) will welcome Julian Marley, Steel Pulse, Aswad, The Skints, Desmond Dekker’s Aces, The Beat, Dawn Penn, Trojan Soundsystem and General Levy.

The Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender (July 12-14) sees a line-up that includes Nile Rodgers & Chic, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Horse Meat Disco, Norman Jay, Craig Charles, London Afrobeat Collective and many more.

Down By The Sea (August 17th) welcomes Fat Freddy’s Drop, Gentleman’s Dub Club, David Rodigan, The Herbaliser, Nubiyan Twist and DJ Vadim.  

DJ Spoony’s Garage Classical (August 30th) is headlined by DJ Spoony, So Solid Crew, Heartless Crew, Shola Ama, Elizabeth Troy, Kele Le Roc, More Fire Crew and many more.

Raver Tots (September 8th) returns with Artful Dodger, DJ Hype, Matt Jam Lamont, Mollie Collins and Nicky Blackmarket.

Finally, Love Unlimited (September 21st) hosts Sister Sledge, Shalamar, Dimitri from Paris, Crazy P and Joe Goddard (Hot Chip).

When it comes to hip-hop and rap, The Roots (August 2nd) return to the UK, along with De La Soul and The Pharcyde, while grime stars Giggs and Ghetts head over on August 3rd.
One of the UK’s most successful dance acts, Rudimental (June 8th), will return to Dreamland with another electrifying DJ set, joined by DJ Shy FX. German rave machine Scooter (September 6th) will host Kent’s biggest-ever rave with special guests Symmetrik and Neptunica.  

British icons Madness (June 14th) will no doubt be an absolute classic, while Scottish rock band Simple Minds (June 20th) will be joined by Del Amitri

Singer and former Love Island star Wes Nelson will join Craig David (June 21st), while emotive singer-songwriter Albin Lee Meldau will join Jack Savoretti (July 5th). In the world of pop, icons JLS (July 6th) will be joined by hitmaker rapper Tinchy Stryder, while James Arthur (August 25th), Paloma Faith (August 16th), Busted (August 23rd) and Jess Glynne (July 26th) also head for Dreamland. Hit machine Bryan Adams comes to Margate on June 13th for an amazing one-off gig!

Nu-metal legends Limp Bizkit will play the Scenic Stage on June 15st, while empowerment post-punks IDLES bring their TANGK tour to Kent on July 20th.

Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder and Black Grape will be joining Richard Ashcroft (July 12th), alongside Britpop mainstays Dodgy. Staying with Britpop, Manic Street Preachers and indie favourites Suede pair up for July 19th. 

Becky Hill will be the final act of August on the 31st, while the world’s greatest electronic acts Leftfield & Orbital double headline on September 14th.
