Fakers, cooks, weird walls and right hooks
There is something ridiculously fulfilling about saying you got there first. Like seeing a band play live before they get their big break, or visiting a restaurant before a national newspaper’s endorsement sends the booking system into meltdown. I don’t really know why, but that first flag on the moon moment becomes so sweet when the subject goes on to better things.
We at ‘cene have been very smug in the past. No, we won’t list our conquests now, but suffice to say our proverbial ‘saw them first’ bedpost looks like it has had a night with Ray Mears. And next up on the conveyor belt of soon-to-ignore-our-texts... we have international model Harriet Rose John (page 30) wearing I-do-what-I-do fashion brand Faker Supply (page 26).
We talk about how drawing dragons will get you nowhere with Nick Ashton (page 44), while we visit the Timber Batts pub to see how hanging weird stuff on the walls will get you everywhere (page 14).
Botany Bay’s BABii talks about the power of one (page 10) and chef Ben Hughes pops his foraged fruits into our mouth (page 32). From cooks to right hooks, Cheavon ‘C4’ Clarke is looking to make his journey to the Olympics explode (page 20)... oh and we have a giveaway for the new Banksy Captured book (page 8).
Get involved people.
