Gravesend boxer Cheavon 'C4' Clarke reaches Tokyo Olympics
‘cene Magazine favourite Chev’ Clarke books his place on Team GB at the Olympic Games
Kent’s Cheavon Clarke is one of 10 British boxers heading to the Olympic Games after a split decision win in the quarterfinals of the European Road to Tokyo.
Chev ‘C4’ Clarke beat Greece's Vagkan Nanitzanian in the heavy weight category (81-91kgs) cementing his place on Team GB.
The win has capped an unbelievable story which saw the Gravesend 29-year-old almost quit the sport following the 2014 Commonwealths to become a lorry driver.
The semi-finals take place on Monday, with all boxers now competing to determine their seedings at the Games, which are scheduled to be held from 23 July to 8 August 2021.
