NEW MUSIC: FT. CHERRY & THE FEVER DREAMS, ESTHER, DAVID GOTSOUND AND J:KENZO
WE HAVE FOUR NEW SONGS FOR YOU TO LISTEN TO THIS WEEK
This Friday, while you are social distancing or even heading back to work, let these new tracks from Kent artists tune your ears in to what the most musically productive county in the country sounds like right now.
We have added all tracks to the ‘cene #KeepitKent Spotify Playlist HERE
CHERRY & THE FEVER DREAMS - ON YOUR BACK
Canterbury Art Rock group Cherry & The Fever Dreams has returned with new track 'On Your Back'.
It is described as an isolation anthem that highlights the hardships of 2020. With melodic Radiohead-Esque guitar parts, tranquil, emotive vocals, hard-hitting drum rhythms and an unconventional feel, the track fuses several rock subgenres together (psychedelic, prog and art rock) to create a grand, unique sound.
ESTHR - VIOLENCE
Deal electro-rockers Esthr were one of the first musical outfits ever featured by ‘cene on the Spotify #Keepitkent playlist, and now with new track ‘Violence’, they have returned.
The band said: “We are consumed by what we read and what we see, & it drives us to think, to believe, to embody, and to act.
“‘Violence’ is an observation, and a call to action, just not in the way one might initially expect.”
DAVID GOTSOUND - DECEMBER
Having released EP ‘The Mountains’ earlier this year, Bexley artist David GotSound has come up with another moody and intentional track ‘December’.
Already known for turning his hand to different styles of hip hop, ‘December’ has David demonstrate yet another skillset. There is a real US Golden Era feel to the beat and melody, while the lyrics have both a smoothness of garage and the acidic venom of a hyped grime flow. Turn it up.
J:KENZO & SABAB (REMIX), WITH LSN & WARRIOR QUEEN - SYSTEMATIC
Kent producer and electro-sounds pioneer J:Kenzo has collaborated with Sabab to remix LSN’s ‘Systematic’, complete with the vocal talents of Warrior Queen.
What doesn’t this track have? The DnB undertones of the original track with the dub flashes and jungle injection. It has its very own groove and soul feel as well as head bopping beat and laser sharp lyrics.
So creative.
