Sports Team announce second annual Margate Coach Trip
The annual bus trip is presented by Margate based promoters Art's Cool, So Young magazine and Sports Team's very own independent record label Holm Front
Following last year’s inaugural day trip to Margate, Sports Team today share news of the second annual Margate Coach Trip - scheduled for 16th August - and in conjunction with So Young Magazine, Art’s Cool and their own independent record label Holm Front.
The band will once again be bringing friends and fans along by coach down to the seaside towns for a day of wholesome entertainment at Elsewhere Margate.
While the event’s headliners are yet to be announced, today the band are excited to share news of the line-up, with The Rhythm Method and Walt Disco due to perform alongside DJ sets from whenyoung, ‘Alice from Wolf Alice and Tunbridge Wells Punks Lady Bird.

Sports Team guitarist Henry Young said: “Long before we could play our instruments, the aim was always to make Sports Team shows an event. Something to take the afternoon off work for. It's the same with Holm Front.
“Hopefully there's something for everyone to buy into. Having put out records by Personal Trainer and Ugly over the past few months, a Holm Front live show felt like the logical next step. Any excuse to charter a double decker bus to Margate. Really pleased to have Walt Disco, The Rhythm Method and a frankly indulgent array of DJs along for the ride. We've also got a couple of surprises up our sleeve - one more predictable than the other - that will be announced a little closer to the day."
Setting off from Liverpool St. station at midday on August 16th, this year’s trip will closely resemble last year’s excursion, though any fans returning for a second year will be hoping for less trying transport conditions.
2018’s edition took place on one of the hottest days of the year, with no air con, or even open windows to create a memorable, if a little harrowing, jaunt to the seaside before the band played at Margate’s tiny Tom Thumb theatre. An update on the coach’s air conditioning capabilities can be expected in the coming weeks.
