Whitefriars is pleased to confirm that Typo will be opening in the centre on Saturday 12th October.

The new store, which describes itself as ‘the ultimate gifting and stationery destination’, and one of Australia’s fastest growing lifestyle brands, will be opening in the former Disney Store unit in Gravel Walk. They will be complementing the range of stores already trading within Whitefriars and will be treating their customers on Saturday to free cookies and badges to welcome them to the store.

UK Brand Manager, Sally Howard, says: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our UK footprint into Canterbury. Since the opening of our Stratford store in December 2017, we’ve seen great traction both online and in store with sales soaring beyond all expectations. Our new store in Canterbury has been selected based on key areas of growth for us and it will create new jobs. We’ve doubled the number of customers shopping with us online year on year, and our increase in online traffic is driving the demand for more stores in key locations that are consistent with where our online customers are located. This new store is a valuable extension to the existing 250 Typo stores across 13 countries. Our bestselling products are our ‘spin-out’ notebooks, shower speakers, metal drink bottles and our famous Buffalo diaries.”

Whitefriars Centre Manager Peter Scutt adds: “It’s great to welcome a company of Typo’s calibre and growing popularity to Whitefriars. We are sure it will be a big hit with our customers, particularly now in the run-up to the busy Christmas shopping period. We currently only have one vacant unit across the whole of Whitefriars, a measure of the centre’s - and Canterbury’s - continuing attraction to high-end retailers. Agents are already in discussions with potential occupiers and are confident of securing a letting in the very near future.”
