Well hello there you lovely lot, welcome back to the Style Space. I have been absolutely overwhelmed by all your lovely comments from the last issue. I love, love, love hearing from you.Hopefully by now you know what I am all about, but just in case I’ll give you a quick reminder. I have a passion for fashion and a huge love for Kent. So each issue I introduce you to, and help you get to know, all those wonderful beings that make fashion happen in this place we love to call home.

Right, so let’s get straight to it shall we? This issue's spotlight is on Coco Roses Apparel, an absolutely stunning brand that focuses on spreading love and positivity through clothing and accessories.

The face behind Coco Roses Apparel is Mimi. I met Mimi on a shoot a while back and we simply clicked. You know when you meet someone and you instantly like them? Her vibe was super positive and it was clear she truly believed in her brand and everything it stood for.
I just knew I had to meet Mimi again and share with you the greatness that is Coco Roses Apparel. So that’s just what I did. We met in Roost, Margate with photographer Samantha Taylor and discussed all things Coco Roses...

What made you set up your business in Kent?

“I had my baby steps in Canterbury, childhood in Blean woods, teenage years on Whitstable beach and now I return from London to Margate in what feels like a full circle. I love the sea, it’s very important to me. And I want my babies to always have sandy toes. Margate is as beautiful as it is arty/gritty, and I find it very inspirational.”

What made you start Coco Roses?

“My love for designing and making things started when I was little. And although my career path up until two years ago was very different, I finally bit the bullet and pursued my passion. I began making baby booties! But I had bigger ambitions so, in August last year, I finally opened my dream shop online, selling clothes and accessories for ladies and babies.”

Explain to me what Coco Roses is about?

“I feel that in a world clogged with negativity, we need more light! So I wanted to
start a brand that had positive messages at its core. Pretty, happy things that were also empowering.
Women when united are immensely powerful. So in order to bring about change, we must strengthen the sisterhood, try to redefine beauty ideals and find happiness in each other’s success. Only then can we really change society!
Basically I make pretty things that are wearable, shareable and hopefully influential.”

After we were all warmed up (and caffeinated), we headed to the beach to shoot some
of Mimi’s collection. My first impression of the clothing was the phenomenal quality. The jumpers and t-shirts are made from wonderful materials, no bras on show here, we’ve all been there right? The designs are beautiful, yet empowering. A dream combo, if you ask me. I am always banging on about how we should support each other, so it’s fair to say I am absolutely in love with Coco Roses. Mimi’s designs go super quick so be sure to check out her tees (perfect for the Summer) at cocorosesapparel.com.

Until next time be sure to find me at justauniform.com,
Big Love,
