NEW MUSIC: FT. James Wood, Stringtheorist, BB Diamond and SASASAS
We have four new songs for you to listen to this week
This Friday, while you are social distancing or even heading back to work, let these new tracks from Kent artists tune your ears in to what the most musically productive county in the country sounds like right now.
We have added all tracks to the ‘cene #KeepitKent Spotify Playlist HERE
JAMES WOOD - TASTE FOR GOLD
Better known as the front man for west Kent indie/mod band The Gallerys’, who garnered national attention, James Wood has changed direction with a new solo project since the band’s split earlier this year. (See our feature with The Gallery’s here).
With a new singer/songwriter style, Wood has all the skills needed to succeed; his presence and ability to hold an audience are obvious. With a softer, folk-flavoured approach, his highly anticipated three track EP ‘Taste For Gold’ will take fans to a new place and starts him on a whole new journey. Change of pace.
STRINGTHEORIST - HYPERDIMENSIONAL UNCERTAINTY
We hadn’t heard from Kent’s finest purveyor of experimental electronic music for some time, so we are so glad that Stringtheorist has returned with a brand new album that plans to elevate consciousness to higher dimensions.
With soothing interludes, intermittent pulsating bass and rapid beats, the title track ‘Hyperdimensional Uncertainty’ is a seven-minute concoction of thought provoking sound stew and searching sonics. It’s like a lunar mission, with all the jeopardy and dream realisation rolled up in one.
Stringtheorist took to Facebook to say: “As I expand into ether, inertia dissipates through waves of hyperdimensional uncertainty.
“I vaguely drift for what seems eternity and sense any reattachment to the material world will be fragmented..... How can I return?”
You have returned perfectly.
ROBBIEG FT. BB DIAMOND - I STILL REMEMBER
Mega DJ/Producer RobbieG has teamed up with Maidstone pop singer BB Diamond to create a track to raise both your pulse and your hands to. Feeling straight out of Creamfields, the chilled beats peak with a crescendo of BB’s enduring smooth vocals to form an end-of-summer anthem. Energising.
SASASAS - WHERE THE DRUMS AT (OZMA REMIX)
An innovative new competition from DnB crew SASASAS in which they asked for their ‘Where The Drumz At” track to be remixed by fans has yielded a brilliant version of the track.
Out of hundreds of entires, the #StayHomeSaveLives Remix winners were Ozma and Harley D had their versions uploaded to Spotify by the MC team of Skibadee, Shabba D and Gravesend’s Harry Shotta.
SASASAS took to social media to say: “This comp helped us find some great new producers who have gone on to get other tracks they’ve made signed.
“Support all the future artists of our scene because trust us when we say there is some amazing talent out there just waiting to entertain you.”
