Steve from Steve Hedges Photography is running a one-day Living With Nature photography course on Saturday 15 February from 9.30am to 4pm.

Subjects covered during the day will include: camera controls and menus, photographic filters, creative use of shutter speed and aperture, white balance, exposure modes, exposure histogram, composition and use of light and colour. For the experienced photographer, the course content will be adjusted to take into account level of technical knowledge.

Steve is fully qualified with the Master Photographer’s Association and the Royal Photographic Society. He has also been shortlisted for the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition in 2011, 2014 and 2015 and in the British Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition twice, the last time was in 2015.

The course costs £80 and those taking part will need to bring a camera or a high quality camera phone. A tripod would also be useful but not essential.

Steve says: “Capturing a wildlife event or taking a perfect portrait encourages me to take out a camera time after time. I have witnessed some magical moments over the years. Being a photographer means that I observe places and events that I might not otherwise have had the opportunity to. Photography has enriched my life. If I can encourage other people to take up or improve their photography, then that’s great.”
