Canterbury Photographers create exhibition
Window to the Soul is a collection of inspiring photographic images created out of passions, observations and serendipity
Photography, the art form has become somewhat marginalised with the rise of the ubiquitous camera phone. Despite this inevitable erosion of status of the art, the purist and passionate photographers are still committed to capturing hidden, secret, and the blatantly obvious and yet forgotten moments and situations we pass by unconsciously.
This engaging exhibition will be presented by the Canterbury Photography Club, a collective of photographers formed in 2012. The images shown will be curated from a wealth of images captured over the elapsed time and promises to thought provoking and inspiring.
Founded in 2012 by Romesh Wijeyekoon, a keen photographer and traveller, the group was created as a place for like-minded photographers in Canterbury and the surrounding areas to meet socially and share their passion for capturing images. Members are a mix of skill levels, from keen enthusiasts to seasoned professionals, beginners and award-winners alike. Our various members have collectively gained recognition in many arenas, including being published in Vogue, London Fashion Week, Rolex, London Olympia, Transport For London, Miriad Publishers to name a few. Awards include Bronze Awards from the Guild Of Photographers, Canterbury Council, Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, amongst others.
